Okay, our lesson on Friday was…. AWESOME! Unfortunately it wasn’t the whole family, just the mom. We found out that the husband is Hindu and he is not really interested, but he seemed a little curious when we met. He was at work and the boy was gone- but next time!
We taught her the restoration. She was very quiet and just soaked everything up! We asked her how she came to know that she wanted to be a Christian after being Hindu all her life. She then shared with us a few very incredible experiences that she has had. She is an amazingly faithful woman who is really seeking for the truth.
She accepted a baptismal date for May 1- Noche Blanca!!! We are so excited! She needs to talk to her husband about it, so that is what we are really praying for now. She came to church yesterday and was able to stay for the first 2 hours. She loved it! She even broke down crying during some of the testimonies. I think she was really overwhelmed with the Spirit. We have another appointment with her this Thursday and I can’t wait!
This week has been a really good one- especially because of her. We were able to get some new investigators (they are all very well educated and amazing people! Two are East Indian and one is Nigerian. It is fun to teach people with diverse backgrounds.). It has been POURING rain the last few days… so that makes being a bike missionary a little bit rough. We had to come in for a little while this weekend while the roads flooded into the bayous. We got caught in the rain on the way home from church yesterday. We were on foot and it was kind of fun. There were even little ducks swimming in the bayous off the roadside. It is a good thing they have great drainage systems here! If it rained this much at home it would be a big disaster, but here it is no big deal.
I hope that you have a wonderful week! I love you so much and I am so grateful for everything that you do!
